Crime Stoppers Programs:Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the citizens of Topeka and Shawnee County since 1981. The goal is simple: cash rewards are paid for information to solve felony crimes, lead to the arrest of a felon, or recover stolen property in a felony crime. •Anyone with a tip can call the Crime Stoppers telephone line at (785) 234-0007 confidentially anytime day or night. •As of October, 2005, Crime Stoppers has a toll-free telephone number : 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) for thgose outside of the Topeka or 785 area code. •You can also now submit your information confidentially and securely on-line by following this link! There is no caller ID on the tip line. Crime Stoppers also seeks information through Crimes of the Week reports on local television and radio stations, the newspaper, and on this web site. The results have been nothing less than impressive. Since its inception, the Crime Stoppers program has solved more than 1,3 cases with more than 1,200 arrests. the Crime Stoppers Brochure (492KB In 1999 , Crime Stoppers began an ambitious new program called the "50 Most Wanted", publishing the photos of felons most-wanted by local authorities. The newspaper insert was a rousing success and will be repeated quarterly. Crime Stoppers has also aided in the start up of several Crime Stoppers Programs in area high schools. Our financial foundation is the result of private and corporate donations. The majority of our donations come through our annual fundraising banquet held each May.
