STOPPERS OF TOPEKA INC. CRIME
STOPPERS REPORT Shawnee County Sheriff Detectives are asking for assistance from the public in identifying suspects involved in a burglary, theft and vandalism of a north Topeka aquatics center.
Between 6/18/09 at 9:00 pm to 6/19/09 7:30 am, unknown individuals entered the Shawnee North Family Aquatics Center located at 300 NE 43rd in Shawnee County. Upon entering the pool area, suspects destroyed and vandalized tables, chairs, sunscreens, slides, signs and pool accessories.
A 10 ft yellow and green floating seaserpent was also taken. Estimated loss was around 13,000.00. (SNSO Case # 09-03727). STOPPERS REPORT Law Enforcement Agencies in Shawnee County are requesting assistance from the public in locating a wanted subject who has an arrest warrant The wanted subject is JAVIER ANGEL MARTINEZ a 19-year-old, Hispanic male, 5’6”, 130 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes. Javier Martinez is being sought on charges of four counts of unlawful voluntary Sexual relations and one count of Contributing to a Child’s Misconduct. STOPPERS REPORT Topeka Police Detectives are asking the public for assistance in identifying the individual(s) involved in a past-unsolved homicide.
On Tuesday June 14, 1994, Topeka Police were called to 2541 SW Brandywine Lane Apartment # 14 reference a dead person. Officers arrived and observed the body of a deceased female in the bedroom of the apartment. It was apparent that the female was a victim of a homicide. The victim was identified as 39- year-old Roxanne Zwiesler, the resident of apartment # 14 . The body of Roxanne was found by a family member who came to the apartment to check on her welfare after phone calls were not answered. Case # 16499-04. STOPPERS REPORT Detectives of the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in a burglary, Theft, and Criminal Damage case.
On Tuesday May 5, 2009 at about 9:50 pm, deputies were dispatched to Professional Fire Alarm Systems located at 5604 S. Topeka #4. Upon arrival at the business the deputies met with an employee of Professional Fire Alarm Systems. The employee shut off the alarm and the deputies checked the building for any intruders. No one was found inside the building. Due to past break-ins to the business, a video surveillance system had been installed. Deputies viewed the surveillance video and observed a car drive up in front of the business. The male driver exited the vehicle with a large pair of bolt cutters and breaks out the glass of the front door. The suspect then removes a computer tower, a monitor, and a key board.
The male suspect was described as a possible light skinned black male, 6’01”, 230 to 240 lbs, wearing a Dallas Cowboy jersey with the # 31 on it, blue jean shorts, and white tennis shoes. The vehicle was described as a black Ford 4 door possibly a mid 90’s to 2000 model. Detectives of the Topeka Police Department are asking for assistance from the public in identifying suspects in two Burglary, Theft, and Criminal Damage cases. On Saturday April
4, 2009 at 1:13 pm, police officers were called to the Christian Lord
Ministries at 2421 SE California reference a past burglary. The reporting
party stated that sometime between 9:30 pm on April 3, 2009 and 1:00
pm on April 4, 2009 unknown individuals kicked in the front door of the
church building. The suspect(s) removed the church’s computers,
Yamaha keyboard, and numerous other items. The loss from damage and theft
was estimated at over $9,000. On Sunday May 3, 2009 at 9:39 am, police officers were again called to the Christian Lord Ministries at 2421 SE California reference a past burglary. The reporting party stated that sometime between mid-night on May 2, 2009 and 9:00 am on May 3, 2009 unknown individuals kicked in the front door of the church. The suspect(s) removed a 28” Hanns flat screen computer monitor. Loss from damage and theft was estimated at over $900.00. STOPPERS REPORT Detectives of the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office are asking for assistance from the public in identifying suspects in an Agg. Robbery and Kidnapping case. On Monday April 13, 2009 at about 10:33 pm, deputies of the Shawnee Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a private residence located at 4701 SW Auburn Road . Upon arrival at this residence the deputies located three adult male victims. On speaking with the victims the deputies determined that two of the victims reported that they were inside a metal building cleaning. While they were cleaning the building one of the victims stepped near the open south door and was approached by a masked male displaying a shotgun. This suspect was followed into the building by another masked male suspect. The two suspects ordered the victims on the floor and taped their feet with duct tape. While they were in the process of robbing the two victims a friend of the victims arrived with his 20 month old daughter. The two suspects robbed this individual as well. The victims were not able to provide a good description of the two suspects and they believed there may have been a third suspect outside in a vehicle. STOPPERS REPORT Detectives of the Topeka Police Department are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in an attempted burglary and criminal damage case.
On Thursday April 2, 2009 at about 4:30 am, police officers were dispatched to Robuck’s Jewelry Store at 845 N. Kansas reference a past burglary. The employee that requested police reported that an unknown subject had broken out a window. Upon further investigation it was discovered that numerous cables, phone wires, and electrical lines had be cut along with other damage to the back door and lock. The business’ surveillance system recorded the suspect along side the building prior and after the break in attempt. The Topeka Fire Department has responded to five arson fires in this block since January 2009.
